WRITING: WHO IS WHO?
In the next activity you have to describe someone in this picture. Write your name and then the description of a character in the lines below the image. Remember that it's very important to describe well your choice's appearance and his/her clothes so that your colleagues can identify him/her.
Then, try to guess who is the one who describes one of your partners.

ReplyDeleteHi Sara
DeleteI really like this activity! It reminds me of the board game I used to play as a child, "Who's Who?" It's a wonderful way to get children to use clothes vocabulary as well as describe people's characteristics (height, hair color and length etc.). After the students complete this writing activity, it may be fun to incorporate the game as a speaking exercise by having the students come to the front of the class one at a time and describe one of their classmates to the group. The person who guesses who the other is describing gets to come up to the front and be the "describer."

Hi Sara,
ReplyDeleteI am used to teaching oral English skills using flash cards and pictures. In my opinion is very useful since you can practice vocabulary and speaking of any topic. On the other hand, it is really motivating because chidren love playing, so they will learn vocabulary of clothes and describing people whereas they are enjoying themselves. Congratulations!.

Sara,
ReplyDeleteYour blog is really nice.
I like activities like this one, which can be used for several skills. In this case you went for the writing and added a game. In addition, as Amy said, it can be used as a speaking activity. Yeah, it reminds me to the board game "who's who", a fantastic game to practice English describing features and clothes.
Combining games and learning is one of the best ways to teach children.
Congratulations.
Best wishes
Jorge
Hello Sara,
ReplyDeleteI like very much this activity because I think that children will be very motivated as the activity requires guessing and children will have fun with it.
I also think that it is a useful activity because it is very important to know how to describe a person, and to be fluent with adjectives and the name of clothes, and this activity will help students in that sense.
In addition, I like that this activity offers the possibility not only improving writing skills but also interaction between students, so it is great!
Regards,
Ana
